Velvet has been associated with luxury for many centuries and is known for its soft hand and rich plush pile, which may be created with a variety of materials in a time consuming process that requires more raw materials to weave than any other fabric.

We tailored this particular pillow with soft figured velvet from the renown french house Pierre Frey. Woven on a jacquard loom the animal pattern is formed by cut pile velvet and un-cut (loops) with voided area to give it a particular rich appearance. The tone on tone colorway of the pattern gives it a sophisticated feel and the silky antique satin backing from Manuel Canovas in a striking absinth green a touch of glamour.
